Last weekend the Pacific Tigers officially opened the 2007-08 Big West swimming & diving season with a dual meet at California. The men's team fell to the Golden Bears 133-116, while the women's team also struggled opening weekend with a 163-90 loss.
This weekend UC Davis and UC Santa Barbara jump in the pool for the first time this season with a handful of dual meets on the schedule. The Aggies visit UC Santa Cruz for a Saturday afternoon showdown starting at 1:00 p.m. Last season UC Davis dominated the Banana Slugs, posting scores of 159.5-126.5 (M) and 180-102 (W).
UC Santa Barbara's women's team welcomes the UCLA Bruins and the Oregon State Beavers to Campus Pool for a Saturday meet beginning at noon. While the Big West defending women's champions compete this weekend, the Gauchos men's team begins the new year Oct. 26-27 at Arizona State.
