Sophomore-to-be Selanee Henderson belongs to the No. 16-ranked UC Irvine women's golf program in Golf Digest's College Golf Guide.
The Big West Conference announced today the Golf Athletes of the Month award winners for the month of March. Long Beach State junior Brett Lederer and Cal Poly senior Travis Bertoni shared Men's Athlete of the Month honors. Lederer finished eighth at the Callaway Invitational at The Farms and had a hole-in-one during the first round of the tournament. Lederer then finished fourth at the Western Intercollegiate at Pasatiempo Golf Course. Bertoni won two of the three tournaments that he competed in during the month of March. Bertoni won the Drake Invitational at the Diablo Grande Golf Course and won the Cuesta Title/Cal Poly Intercollegiate at the Cypress Ridge Golf Course.
On the women's side, UCI sophomore Selanee Henderson and Long Beach State sophomore Kay Hoey were named the co-Big West Women's Golf Athlete of the Month for March. Henderson had a pair of second place finishes during the Month, one coming at the Spartan Invitational and another at the Anteater Invite. Hoey tied for fourth place at the UNLV Spring Invitational in her lone competition of the month.
