Turner and Sarver's Titan Efforts, Bills' Big Arm Garner Big West Weekly Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Justin Turner, Cal State Fullerton (Lakewood, Calif./Mayfair HS)

Justin Turner was hot at the plate at the right time for Cal State Fullerton, helping to claim at least a share of the Big West crown in a pivotal series against rival Long Beach State. In four games last week, the 5-11 junior second baseman went 11-for-17 (.647) from the plate with three doubles, five runs scored, three RBI and three base swipes. He finished the Long Beach State series hitting .583. Turner was also big with the glove, converting 19 putouts without an error.

CO-PITCHER OF THE WEEK:
Taylor Bills, UC Riverside (Menifee, Calif./Paloma Valley HS)

Taylor Bills was in total control in a complete-game victory at Cal Poly on Saturday. The 6-5 sophomore righty allowed just two runs on four hits while striking out seven Mustangs in the 8-2 win for his third complete game of the season. Bills used a 122-pitch effort to retire 22 straight batters in the game.

CO-PITCHER OF THE WEEK:
Scott Sarver, Cal State Fullerton (Covina, Calif./Fullerton College)

Scott Sarver made two solid appearances for the Titans last week, earning the series-clinching win over rival Long Beach State on Sunday for at least a share of the conference crown. The 6-2 senior lefty tossed 7.0 innings of scoreless work, allowing four hits to go along with two strikeouts. Sarver used just 78 pitches to face 26 Long Beach State hitters. Before that, he threw two innings in a win over San Diego.
