Andrew Martinez reached base in all four games last week as UC Riverside extended its winning streak to six games before falling to Pacific. In the first game of the Pacific series, the 6-2 junior designated hitter had his second seven-RBI game with a bases-clearing double and a grand slam. The next day, Martinez reached base in all five at-bats. He finished the week batting .462 with a slugging percentage of .846 and an on-base percentage of .632.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK:
Marco Estrada, Long Beach State (San Fernando, Calif./Sylmar HS)
Marco Estrada improved to 7-0 on the season after dishing out 92 pitches in eight innings of winning work for Long Beach State against UC Davis. The junior righty allowed just three hits and held the Aggies scoreless in his outing. Estrada retired the final eight batters he faced, finishing with seven strikeouts in the eventual 9-0 win.
