Brandon Roberts propelled the Mustangs to a clean sweep of UC Santa Barbara by hitting a sharp .611 through the series. The 5-11 junior center fielder scored six runs and plated six more for Cal Poly, which jumped into the national rankings for the first time this season. Roberts tripled twice on Saturday on the way to back-to-back four-hit games, followed by three hits on Sunday.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK:
Luke Massetti, Pacific (Modesto, Calif.)
Luke Massetti anchored the Tigers to their first win over a top-10 team in over a decade with his eight-inning performance against then-No. 9 Long Beach State. The 6-4 junior right-hander struck out seven and allowed just one run on four hits. In the fifth inning, Massetti sidestepped trouble on first and third with a pair of strikeouts to get out of the inning with the score locked 1-1.
