Long Beach State's Troy Tulowitzki was out with injury for part of the 2005 season, but earned his first Player of the Week award this week.

Troy Tulowitzki (Sunnyvale, Calif./Fremont HS) clutched up at the plate to lead the 49ers to a three-game sweep of Cal State Northridge. The 6-3 junior shortstop went 8-for-14 (.571) from the plate for the week, including two doubles, one run scored and six RBI. Tulowitzki earned a pair of walks and was hit by two pitches on the week, reaching base for the 49ers any way he could.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Jimmy Shull, Cal Poly
Jimmy Shull (Downey, Calif./Warren HS) tossed his first career complete-game shutout for Cal Poly in a 2-0 win over UC Davis at home. The 6-2 senior right-hander allowed only five hits and three walks, striking out nine Aggies on 128 pitches, 80 of which were strikes.
