Thirteen Oklahoma batters went down at the hands of Cal State Fullerton's Ricky Romero at the Kia Baseball Bash.
PLAYER: Kyle Blumenthal, Cal Poly (San Bernardino, Calif./Cajon HS)
Senior utility player Kyle Blumenthal was a road warrior for the Mustangs last week, hitting .538 with seven hits, a home run, five RBI and six runs scored in four games, helping Cal Poly sweep a three-game series from Fresno State for the first time in the 60-year baseball rivalry between the two schools. Against UC Santa Barbara, Blumenthal knocked a two-run home run and a pair of sacrifice flies. In the series against the Bulldogs, Blumenthal reached base in his first eight plate appearances and ended the series 6-for-10 from the plate, including a .733 on-base percentage.
