Senior utility player Kyle Blumenthal was a road warrior for the Mustangs last week, hitting .538 with seven hits, a home run, five RBI and six runs scored in four games, helping Cal Poly sweep a three-game series from Fresno State for the first time in the 60-year baseball rivalry between the two schools. Against UC Santa Barbara, Blumenthal knocked a two-run home run and a pair of sacrifice flies. In the series against the Bulldogs, Blumenthal reached base in his first eight plate appearances and ended the series 6-for-10 from the plate, including a .733 on-base percentage.

Junior lefthander Ricky Romero posted a dominating performance in a Cal State Fullerton win over Oklahoma Saturday night. He sat down a season-high 13 batters en route to his fourth victory of the season in 7.0 innings of scoreless work for the Titans, allowing only five hits and a walk.
