Long Beach State junior Brad Davis (Mission Viejo, Calif.) was named Big West Player of the Week. The 49er catcher led the team to a three-game sweep over UC Irvine, batting .556 (5-for-9) with three runs scored and three RBI. In game one, Davis scored the game-winning run and in game two he blasted a two-run homer that drove in the eventual game-winner.

Long Beach State junior Jered Weaver (Simi Valley, Calif.) was named Big West Pitcher of the Week. The 49er right-hander made it 11 wins in a row with a complete game shutout against UC Irvine. Weaver allowed four hits and no walks while striking out 12 batters. With the win Weaver tied Andy Croghan for first on the all-time Long Beach State wins list with 33. The 33 wins are tied for second all-time in Big West history and are just two shy of tying Donovan Osborne (UNLV) for first place.
