UC Riverside freshman Nick Salotti (Palm Desert, Calif.) was named Big West Player of the Week. The Highlander catcher helped the team to a series sweep over San Francisco with multi-hit games. Salotti batted .615 (8-for-13) with four runs scored and three RBI in three games. He collected a series cycle with a double in game one and a triple and hom run in game two.

Long Beach State junior Jered Weaver (Simi Valley, Calif.) was named Big West Pitcher of the Week. The 49er right-hander struck out 15 batters for the second consecutive week en route to his sixth win of the season. Weaver went eight shutout innings against UCLA at PETCO Park in San Diego. He allowed just one hit and one walk. With his 15 Ks, he moved into second place all-time in Long Beach State history with 288 career strikeouts.
