UC Irvine Golf Sweeps November’s Best with Solid Performances from Edick and Chin

UC Irvine sophomore Brian Edick (Valencia, Calif./ HS) became the second Anteater to win Big West Golf Male Player of the Month honors after a pair of high finishes in November tournament play. Edick placed fourth out of 84 golfers with his 6-over 222 at The Prestige. It was the highest finish among all golfers in the Pacific Region, which includes UCLA, Stanford, Pepperdine and others. He then tied for third overall with a 2-under 211 at the Del Walker Intercollegiate, finishing ahead of all other Big West players.

UC Irvine freshman Jane Chin (Huntington Beach, Calif./ HS) became the third freshman to claim the fall Big West Golf Female Player of the Month award. Chin finishing up the fall season with a seventh-place finish at the Las Vegas Founders Collegiate Showdown with a 3-over 219. In the tournament, she shot a tournament-low 67 on the final round on the way to her second career top-10 finish. The 67 matched the UC Irvine program’s all-time low and helped the Anteaters to a score of 289 — the lowest 18-hole score in school history — and an eventual fourth-place finish at the tourney.
