Blake Simon is in his seventh year at The Big West, serving three years
as the Assistant Commissioner of Compliance before being promoted to Associate Commissioner of Compliance
in Febuary 2024. Simon manages all compliance efforts at the conference office, while providing interpretive guidance and assistance to all member institutions.
Simon organizes all legislative ballots for NCAA votes, and provides updates to membership. He manages the conference legislative process and maintains all conference manuals. He evaluates all waivers submitted to the conference office and reviews incoming SAF/SAOF requests. He works with the conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and is the conference liaison to the Faculty Athletics Representative group. Blake is also the sport administrator for men’s and women’s tennis and is responsible for running their championships.
Prior to joining The Big West in August 2017, Simon worked as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance at the University of Vermont where he managed the day-to-day compliance operations for the athletic department. He was the primary individual responsible for eligibility certification, rules education, monitoring, interpretations, waivers and violation reporting. He was also the academic advisor for the Nordic and Alpine ski teams.
Simon also spent three years at Florida International University as the Assistant Director for Athletics Compliance and two years as the Compliance Coordinator at Tulane University.
Simon graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2008 with a Bachelor's degree in marketing and a minor in economics. In 2011, he received Juris Doctor degree from Tulane Law School, with a certificate in sports law.
