Tyler Huntley is entering a seventh season with The Big West, joining the staff in August 2019, first as Director of Championship before increasing the role to Assistant Commissioner
in February 2024.
Huntley serves as the sport administrator for cross country, track & field, and baseball. Huntley's duties also include assisting in the planning and execution of all the other Big West Championships.
Outside of Championship administration, Huntley also serves as the contact for the institutional game management staff, assisting in any event-related aid. Additionally, he oversees The Big West awards program for all sports.
Prior to The Big West, Huntley worked as the Director of Sport Operations for Cal Athletics for baseball, track & field, lacrosse, men's gymnastics, field hockey and beach volleyball. During his time at Cal, Huntley hosted an MPSF Men's Gymnastics Championship and served as the meet director for several different sporting events.
Huntley also interned in the University of Washington's Olympic Operations department while obtaining a Masters in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership. While in Seattle, Huntley served as event director for an ITA regional and volunteer coordinator for the 2016 Pac-12 Track & Field Championship.
He began his career working in the Cal Poly compliance office as an intern for two years. Huntley earned a bachelor's degree in Political Science at Cal Poly, where he lettered in both cross country and track and was named All-Big West First Team in 2014. He also was a scoring member when Cal Poly earned Big West cross country team championships in 2012 and 2013.
