Rodriguez enters his third season with The Big West and was promoted to Director of Communications in July 2025 after joining the conference office as Assistant Director of Strategic Communications in July 2023. He serves as the primary communications contact for beach volleyball, women's soccer, softball, and men's and women's water polo, while also serving as the secondary contact for men's and women's basketball.
In this role, Rodriguez focuses on the creation and publication of social media content, awards reporting, championship coverage, and feature stories for 11 Big West institutions and the public.
A member of the College Sports Communicators (CSC), Rodriguez was recognized as a recipient of the CSC 30 Under 30 Class of 2025, an honor celebrating emerging leaders in strategic, creative, and digital communications across college athletics. He also participated in the 2025 CSC Inclusion Fellowship, a professional development program focused on advancing inclusive practices and strengthening advocacy for student-athletes and athletics professionals at the campus, conference, and national levels.
Rodriguez came to the league after serving as the sports information graduate assistant at Endicott College in Beverly, Mass. At Endicott, Rodriguez was the primary communications contact for eight varsity sports. He also created content across various social media platforms to highlight Endicott’s athletics department, as well as providing additional support to the alumni relations and college social media accounts.
Q also brings experience on the national championship stage after developing and executing a social media content plan for both the 2023 NCAA Division III Men’s and Women's Ice Hockey National Championships.
While at Endicott,
Rodriguez was chosen as one of two Division III recipients of the NCAA Inclusion CSC Convention Grant, an award created to advocate for diversity within the athletic communications profession. The program includes a visit to the NCAA national office and pairs grant recipients with a CSC mentor for the upcoming academic year, along with CSC Convention attendance.
Before his stay in New England, Rodriguez got a start in college athletics at the University of Central Florida (UCF). While a member of the Black & Gold, Rodriguez worked in the strategic communications office, providing publicity for the football, volleyball, and softball programs. He also worked as a student reporter for UCF Knight News, covering the football team through social and traditional media methods.
Q's other relevant experiences in the field include a social media internship with the Orlando Predators arena football team and a marketing coordinator position with Kissimmee Main Street in his hometown back in Central Florida, with both stints concluding towards the end of summer 2021. Rodriguez is also a proud Eagle Scout and served in the scouting community for nearly ten years.
The Kissimmee, Fla. native earned his bachelor’s degree in social sciences (journalism studies), with a minor in sport business management from UCF in 2021 before graduating from Endicott with a master’s degree in sports leadership during the spring of 2023.
