Hawai‘i infielder Jamie McGaughey powered the Rainbow Wahine to a series sweep at UC Riverside to earn The Big West Field Player of the Week, presented by Rawlings, for the second time of the junior’s career, and 2026 season (Apr. 13, 2026)

McGaughey hit .600 (6-for-10) with three home runs, one double, two walks, six runs scored, and four RBI across the three-game series.

The infielder highlighted the weekend with a 4-for-4 showing in game two, tying a career-high with two home runs while adding a double and three RBI.

McGaughey also sparked the offense in the opener with a solo home run and reached base multiple times in the finale with two walks and a run scored.

UC Davis pitcher Ashley Sawai delivered a dominant showing in the circle to claim The Big West Pitcher of the Week award, presented by Rawlings. This is the second weekly distinction of Sawai’s career after earning Big West Freshman Pitcher of the Week back on Apr. 15, 2024.

Sawai tossed 11.0 innings in a single start, earning the win while allowing just one earned run on four strikeouts.

The pitcher limited baserunners throughout the outing, surrendering no walks in the complete-game effort.

UC San Diego freshman pitcher Bella Settembro guided the Tritons in the circle to claim The Big West Freshman of the Week award, presented by Rawlings. Settembro bookends this year’s FPOTW award after earning the honor during the opening week on Feb. 9, 2026.

Settembro combined for 7.2 innings across two appearances, allowing just two runs on seven hits while striking out three. The pitcher opened with a relief outing in game one before delivering 6.2 innings of one-run ball in the series finale.
- Settembro earned the win in the finale, helping secure a series sweep over CSUB and clinch a Big West Softball Championship berth.
