UC Irvine's Lyght, Cal Poly's Bernstein, Cal State Fullerton's Davis and Long Beach State's Denness-Lamont Collect First Weekly Honors of the Season

Men's Track Athlete of the Week 
Logan Lyght, UC Irvine | Junior • Orange, Calif. 
  • 8136Logan Lyght of UC Irvine won the 110m hurdles at the Beach Opener to claim Big West Men's Track Athlete of the Week. It is Lyght's first career weekly honor. 

  • The junior won the 110m hurdles race in a wind-legal personal-record 13.96 at the Beach Opener, ranking fifth in school history. 

  • Lyght also competed in the 200m, crossing the finish line in 21.32 seconds for a top-eight overall finish.

  • The Orange, Calif. leads the nation in both events (wind-legal times only) through the first week of the season.

Men's Field Athlete of the Week 
Conrad Bernstein, Cal Poly | Redshirt Junior • El Segundo, Calif.
  • 8038Cal Poly's Conrad Bernstein won the men's javelin to earn Big West Men's Field Athlete of the Week. It is Bernstein's first career weekly honor. 

  • The redshirt junior won the men's javelin at the Gaucho Relays with a lifetime best of 229'2"/69.84m, the fourth-best mark in Cal Poly history. 

  • The mark is the best in The Big West and nation so far this outdoor season.

Women's Track Athlete of the Week 
Jahzara Davis, Cal State Fullerton | Senior • Colorado Springs, Colo. 
  • 27265Cal State Fullerton's Jahzara Davis won the 100m hurdles at the RCC Invitational to claim The Big West Women's Track Athlete of the Week award. It is Davis' first career weekly honor. 

  • Davis crossed the finish line of the 100m hurdles race in 13.57, .16 seconds off from a personal best. 

  • The time ranks first in The Big West and nation so far this season.

Women's Field Athlete of the Week 
Roni Denness-Lamont, Long Beach State | Graduate • White Rock, B.C., Canada
  • 8042Long Beach State's Rori Denness-Lamont won the took first in the javelin competition at the Beach Opener to earn The Big West Women's Field Athlete of the Week honor. It is Denness-Lamont's third career weekly honor, having won the award twice in 2024. 

  • The Beach graduate student won the women’s javelin with a throw of 53.89m.  

  • The mark eclipsed her own Long Beach State program record of 52.63m/174'8" and currently ranks first in the Big West, first in the NCAA West Region and first nationally.
