Big West Glass-Crashing Record for Megan Norris Results in Conference Player of the Week Award

  • 8137A momentous week for Megan Norris secured the UC Davis redshirt senior a season’s third and fourth career Big West Player of the Week honor. 

  • Norris rewrote history in more ways than one, becoming the Aggies’ single-season rebound leader on the fourth board of Thursday’s game against UC San Diego. Going on to finish the contest with 29 rebounds, Norris broke the single-game program record and Big West record in the triple overtime victory, the longest game in program history.  

  • The center from Menlo Park, Calif., finished the night with 13 points and four assists to go along with the nation’s second-best rebounding output of the season as UC Davis secured their spot in the 2026 Credit Union 1 Big West Women’s Basketball Championship.  

  • In Saturday’s game at Long Beach State, Norris added 16 points on 60 percent shooting with 14 rebounds in 29 minutes. All told, Norris averaged 14.0 points, 21.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game in the two-win week. 

  • Norris finds herself in rarified air this season, leading the NCAA Division I in defensive rebounds per game (10.1) and is third nationally in both rebounding average (13.1) and double-doubles with 17 on the year.
