Three Big West Pitchers Named Preseason All-Americans

UC Santa Barbara junior right-handed pitcher Jackson Flora, UC Irvine junior left-handed pitcher Ricky Ojeda and Hawai'i junior right-handed pitcher Isaiah Magdaleno were named Preseason All-Americans by several media outlets.
 
Flora earned Preseason All-America honors from Baseball America (First Team) and Perfect Game (First Team). Last season, the righty went 6-3 in 13 appearances with a 3.60 ERA over 75.0 innings and accumulated 86 strikeouts. Flora is listed at No. 14 of top prospects for the upcoming 2026 Major League Baseball Draft and earned a spot on the Golden Spikes Award Preseason Watch List.
 
Ojeda was named a Preseason All-American by the NCBWA (First Team), Perfect Game (First Team) and D1Baseball (Third Team). In 2025, the lefty made 29 appearances and went 13-1 with a 3.55 ERA and logged 83 strikeouts over 66.0 innings. Ojeda’s name is on the Golden Spikes Award Preseason Watch List and is ranked the 99th prospect in the upcoming 2026 Major League Baseball Draft.

Magdaleno earned Preseason All-America Third Team accolades from JustBaseball. The Los Angeles, calif. pdouct made 24 apperances and went 4-1 with 9 saves, a 2.70 ERA and 77 strikeouts in 60.0 innings last year. 
 
The 2026 NCAA baseball season begins Friday, Feb. 13 with all 11 Big West teams in action. League play will start Friday, March 6, culminating into the 2026 Big West Baseball Championship, May 20-24 at UC Irvine’s Cicerone Field at Anteater Ballpark. The winner will earn the conference's automatic berth into the NCAA Championship.
