Big West Alums Bryan Woo and Joe Ryan to Play in 2025 MLB All-Star Game

The Big West will be well represented in the 2025 Major League Baseball All-Star Game, with former Cal Poly pitcher Bryan Woo and former CSUN pitcher Joe Ryan participating Tuesday night. First pitch of the 95th annual Midsummer Classic is set for 5 p.m. PT from Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves. The game will be televised on FOX. 

Woo is in year three with the Seattle Mariners and has an 8-4 record with a 2.75 ERA and 109 strikeouts in 114.2 innings on the mound this season. The former Mustang (2019-21) compiled 89 Ks in 69.1 frames at Cal Poly. Woo was drafted in the sixth round by the Seattle Mariners in the 2021 MLB Draft. 

Ryan, the fifth-year Minnesota Twin, is currently 9-4 with a 2.72 ERA and 121 punchouts in 109.1 innings of work this year. The righty spent three seasons (2015-17) at CSUN, going 3-0 with a 1.48 ERA and 32 strikeouts in 30.1 frames as a freshman, and a 3.35 ERA in 40.1 innings as a sophomore, before getting injured as a junior and transferring to Division II Stanislaus State. Ryan was taken in the seventh round by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 2018 MLB Draft.
