FULLERTON, Calif. — A goal in each half and a three-save shutout lifted No. 3 seed Cal State Fullerton past No. 6 seed CSUN, 2-0, on Wednesday at Titan Stadium in the first round of the 2026 Big West Women's Soccer Championship.

All-Big West Second Team forward Sail Bozinovic contributed a goal and an assist, opening the scoring in the 14th minute before helping set up the Titans' second-half finish. Goalkeeper Allison Craycroft turned away all three attempts on target as Fullerton withstood a second-half push from the Matadors to secure a semifinal berth.

CSUN produced the match's first attempt through forward Jordyn Canister in the opening minute, but Fullerton broke through at 13:34 when the senior forward scored off an assist from forward Sasha Amezcua. The San Diego native's fifth goal of the season gave the Titans an early advantage.

Fullerton continued to create opportunities, with Cayla Oliveira striking the crossbar in the 20th minute. The Titans finished the opening half with a 7-5 edge in shots, while the Matadors tested the Titan goalkeeper through forward Yasmin Azar in the 31st minute. At the other end, CSUN goalkeeper Hayden Mauldin saved an attempt from All-Big West First Team midfielder Camryn Cruz in the 45th minute to keep the deficit at one entering halftime.

The Matadors increased the pressure after the break, generating 11 shots and all six of their corner kicks in the second half. Midfielder Keilani Claiborne put an attempt toward the upper-right corner in the 65th minute, but the Titan goalkeeper made the stop. Another save against All-Big West honorable mention selection Lia Peterson in the 69th minute preserved the narrow lead.

Fullerton added to the advantage at 71:54 when substitute forward Mia LaRosa scored a third goal of the season. The senior midfielder and senior goalscorer combined for the assist, giving the Titans a two-goal cushion.

CSUN finished with a 16-10 advantage in shots and a 6-4 edge in corner kicks, with both teams placing three attempts on target. The Matador goalkeeper recorded one save, while the Titan goalkeeper completed the shutout across the full 90 minutes.
