The Hayward, Calif. Native notched pair of two HR games, the first of which in a 16-0 rout of Western Illinois, and the second versus host-site Hawai’i in a 7-2 victory in the final game of the tournament.

15 of CSUB’s 56 total runs on the weekend were brought in from Cherry’s bat. Overall, the freshman phenom batted .545 during the week.

Currently, Cherry sits atop The Big West in HR’s (5) and RBI (16), second in hits (16), and fifth in slugging percentage (.868) while aiding Cal State Bakersfield to a 7-5 overall record.
