Hawai’i junior Daejah Phillips helped the Rainbow Wahine climb to the top of The Big West standings with a two-win week to secure a first career Big West Player of the Week award. Phillips is the first UH player to nab weekly honors since Amy Atwell took home the award thrice in 2021-22.

Phillips scored a season-high 22 points in Hawai‘i's 66-61 win over Cal State Fullerton on Thursday night, shooting 56 percent from the field while adding three steals and drawing seven fouls in the victory.

The Las Vegas native took over in the fourth quarter against Cal State Fullerton, scoring 11 points on 5-for-8 shooting in the period while posting UH's highest individual scoring performance of the season.

Phillips turned in an all-around performance against UC Irvine on Saturday to help the Rainbow Wahine sweep their homestand. Against UC Irvine, Phillips scored nine points, tied for team-high honors with seven rebounds, dished out three assists and blocked a shot.
