Cal Poly's Natalia Ackerman Wins First Career Weekly Award

  • Cal Poly senior Natalia Ackerman averaged a double-double to help the Mustangs to a two-win week at home to earn a first career Big West Player of the Week honor. Ackerman is the first Cal Poly player to receive the award since the 2020-21 season. 

  • Ackerman averaged 21.0 points on 59 percent shooting and 11.5 rebounds in victorious efforts against CSUN and Long Beach State, notching a double-double in each contest. Ackerman has now recorded seven double-doubles on the season with 16 games reaching double figure scoring. The forward also averaged 2.0 blocks and 1.5 steals per game on the week. 

  • In a 75-68 win against CSUN, Ackerman finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds with a 58 percent effort from the field.  

  • The Watsonville, Calif., native followed it up Saturday with 25 points and 11 rebounds to help the Mustangs come back from down 21 and defeat Long Beach State, 84-76. Ackerman was 6-of-10 from the floor and enjoyed an impressive 13-of-14 outing from the free throw line in the win. 

  • Ackerman leads The Big West in blocks per game with a 2.05 average on the season, good for 25th in NCAA Division I.
