Summah Hanson shined bright by gathering the first double-double performance for UC Irvine this season and aided the Anteaters to another perfect week (2-0), claiming Player of the Week accolades. This is the first weekly distinction of Hanson’s career.  

The Brisbane, Australia native notched 20 points alongside 10 rebounds in UCI’s 72-68 win over Penn on the road in Philadelphia. In 21 minutes, Hanson shot 7-of-13 from the floor and went 5-for-6 from the charity stripe. Six of the ‘Eaters nine points in overtime came courtesy of the sophomore forward.   

Hanson also handled business the day before at Drexel, posting 12 points (5-9 FG) and nine rebounds while coming off the bench in both contests. Overall, Hanson shot 54.5% from the field and 87.5% from the free-throw line.

UC Irvine now sits at 5-1 overall and are winners of five straight games.
