Daejah Phillips of Hawai'i Claims Season's First Big West Player of the Week Award

  • 9Hawai’i senior and reigning Big West Sixth Player of the Year, Daejah Phillips, opened the 2024-25 campaign with a weekend split and Big West Player of the Week. This marks the second career weekly honor for Phillips. 

  • In the win against Portland State, Phillips scored 11 points on 4-for-6 shooting from the field and a 2-for-3 from beyond the arc along with three assists and three steals.

  • The Las Vegas native led the team with 19 points at Portland and went 11-for-11 from the free throw line to help UH set a program record with a 25-for-25 performance at the stripe. 

  • The Rainbow Wahine guard averaged 15 points per game while shooting 47.1% from the field in the two-game road trip to the Pacific Northwest. Phillips also contributed 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.5 assists per game.
