Alexis Whitfield, UC Santa Barbara  Women's Basketball Player of the Week  Senior • Forward • West Hills, Calif.

• UC Santa Barbara’s Alexis Whitfield helped propel the Gauchos into a three-way tie for first place in the standings to claim a second career Big West Player of the Week award. Whitfield also earned distinction back on Nov. 20.  

• The forward recorded a seventh double-double of the season in a 66-53 victory of defending champion and previous No. 1 Hawai’i on Thursday.  

• Whitfield tied a career-high with 23 points on 50 percent shooting and pulled down a career-high 19 rebounds in the contest. The senior also added two assists, a steal and a block to the tally in the win. 

• The product of West Hills, Calif., currently leads The Big West in double-doubles (7) and rebounds (9.2 rpg) is second in field goal percentage (.504) and points per game (15.5 ppg).
