The 2023 Big West Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships will be hosted by Cal Poly, at Blacklake Golf Resort in Nipomo, Calif. on Friday, Oct. 27.

The meet, which determines the conference's individual and team champions, will start with the Men's 8K race at 8:30 a.m. PT and conclude with the Women's 6K race that is scheduled for a 9:15 a.m. PT start time. The awards ceremony will follow after the conclusion of the women's competition. 

In 2022, Cal Poly swept both men's and women's team titles, its 18th and eighth, respectively, as a program. UC Davis' Brianna Weidler took home the women's individual title, while Cal Poly's Jake Ritter won the men's crown.

The 2023 Big West Men's Soccer Championship will feature the top six teams in the standings at the conclusion of the regular season. Nos. 1 and 2 will receive a bye into the semifinal round, with the No. 3 seed hosting No. 6 and the No. 4 seed hosting No. 5 in the opening round of play on Wednesday, Nov. 1.

The winners of the first round games will hit the road to compete in the semis, slated to be contested on Saturday, Nov. 4. The highest advancing seed will then host the championship match on Saturday, Nov. 11, with the winner earning The Big West's automatic bid into the 2023 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship.

Contested every year since 2008 with the exception of 2020's COVID pause, six programs have earned at least one tournament title. UC Irvine leads the way with four victories. Last season, UC Riverside won the Championship as the No. 1 seed.

The 2023 Big West Men's Water Polo Championship will see all six teams converge on Canyonview Aquatics Center on the campus of UC San Diego, Nov. 17-19, with an eye to the championship trophy. 

The quarterfinals are set to be played on Friday, Nov. 17, with advancing teams back in the pool for semifinal competition Saturday. The final two teams will square off on Sunday, Nov. 19 to battle for league superiority.

This is the first season of Big West men's water polo since 1984, bringing the tally of conference-sponsored sports to 19.  With three national championships in the 1970s and 80s, the league already enjoys a storied past in the pool in both the Pacific Coast Athletic Association (PCAA) and Big West eras. In 2022, five of the six Big West programs finished the season inside the Top 20 in the CWPA poll.

The 2023 Big West Women's Volleyball Championship will feature six Big West squads taking to the court at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, Calif.

First-round play begins on Wednesday, Nov. 22. The winners will advance to take on the Nos. 1 and 2 seeds in the semifinal round with the championship match slated for Saturday, Nov. 25. 

A brand-new Big West championship event, the winner will receive the league's automatic bid into the field of the 2023 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship.

The 2024 Big West Basketball Championship will see the top teams in the conference converge on the court at The Dollar Loan Center in Henderson, Nev., to vie for the title. 

A new championship format will be debuted in 2024, with eight teams advancing to compete in the 2024 Big West Basketball Championships. The bracket will automatically advance the top two seeds into the semifinals. 

In 2023, No. 2 seed UC Santa Barbara outlasted No. 4 seed Cal State Fullerton 72-62 in the title game to win its second men's basketball title in three seasons and fifth overall. Up two points at halftime, the Gauchos pulled away in the second half after an 8-0 run and never looked back. Ajay Mitchell, The Big West Player of the Year, scored 20 points and dished out four assists to lead the Gauchos and was named the Tournament MVP. 

On the women's side, No. 3 seed Hawai'i won its second consecutive championship downing No. 5 seed UC Santa Barbara in the final. Trailing by 15 points at the half, the Rainbow Wahine came back to win the game as Daejah Phillips successfully converted a layup and-one free throw opportunity in the closing moments. It was Hawai'i's fourth Big West Championship title (1996, '16, '22, '23).

The nine teams across The Big West are set to converge on the course at Spanish Trail Country Club in Las Vegas, Nev., April 16-18 to play for the conference crown. Contested since 1987, this will mark the first time the event will take place at Spanish Trail, a 27-hole championship course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr.

In 2023's Championship, also contested at Spanish Trail, Cal Poly took home the team three-peat after an impressive final round. Opening the day with a one-stroke lead, the Mustangs were able to cruise to an 11-stroke victory over the field. The individual title went to Long Beach State freshman Jasmine Leovao in wire-to-wire fashion.

In 2023, No. 1 seed Hawai'i pulled off the thrilling victory over No. 3 seed and host UC Irvine, 3-1. 

A conference-sponsored sport since 2018, three schools have earned The Big West crown in men's volleyball: Long Beach State (2018), UC Santa Barbara ('21) and Hawai'i ('19, '22, ‘23).  Two schools - Long Beach State and Hawai’i - also boast a pair of NCAA titles apiece in that timespan.

All postseason-eligible Big West teams will again descend on the courts at the Barnes Tennis Center for the 2024 Big West Tennis Championships April 24-28.

The event spanning five days will crown both a men's and women's champion, who will earn automatic berths into the 2024 NCAA Division I Tennis Championships.

In 2023, top-seeded Hawai'i defeated the No. 2 seed Cal Poly 4-2 in the title match to win the women's championship. It was the Rainbow Wahine's second conference title overall and first since 2018. 

The men's crown went to top-seeded UC Santa Barbara, who swept No. 2 seed UC Irvine 4-0 to capture

The meeting marked the fifth consecutive season where the Anteaters and Rainbow Wahine dueled to the finish, with Hawai'i claiming victory in 2019 and '21.

The nine postseason eligible Big West men's golf programs make their return to the course at La Quinta Country Club April 28-30, looking to secure a spot in the 2024 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Regional field. 

In 2023's iteration also held at La Quinta, Long Beach State earned the team and individual titles. The Beach was able to hold off the competition to claim their fourth Big West championship in program history, firing off a team total of 12-under 852. 

Individually, 54 holes wasn’t enough to determine The Big West’s automatic qualifier for the regional field, as a tri-champion was crowned. Baron Szeto of Cal Poly hit the turn at 4-under in the final round and added back-to-back birdies on 10 and 11 to come in a 6-under 66, for the low round of the day. Cal State Fullerton’s Russell Howlett was next to join with a 5-under 211 on the day. Playing in the last grouping on the course, Long Beach State’s Ian Gilligan recorded a 1-under 71 to secure a spot in the sudden-death playoff. 

Gilligan came up clutch and took claimed the individual honor, besting the tiebreaker competitors on the 412-yard par-4 18th hole for the second time of the day.

Cal Poly is set to host the 2024 Big West Track & Field Championships as the nine eligible men's programs and 10 eligible women's teams converge upon on Miller & Capriotti Athletics Complex for two weekends of competition.

The heptathlon and decathlon multi events will be contested on May 3-4, then, on May 10-11 the remainder of the championships meet schedule will fill up two action-packed days of competition. 

In 2023, the Cal State Fullerton men won its third consecutive and sixth of the last seven conference crowns with 184.5 points. On the women's side, Long Beach State posted 149 points for the team victory. The Beach hoisted the program's second consecutive team trophy, third overall.
