The Big West postseason competition slate has been set for 2023-24, continuing in the tradition of campus sites or institution-hosted Championships for the bulk of the NCAA-qualifying events.
No fewer than four member-institutions are in this year's championship rotation: Cal Poly plays host for cross country in the fall, as well as track & field in the spring to bookend the competition calendar. UC San Diego is set to showcase the Canyonview Aquatic Center for the second Big West-hosted event in the comeback season for men's water polo. The Tritons also welcomed the conference championship to the pool in 2021 for women's water polo.
Also hosting an inaugural event, Long Beach State's Walter Pyramid is set for the site of the 2023 Big West Women's Volleyball Championship. UC Davis gets the nod for women's water polo, with the Aggies hosting the Championship for the third time (2012, ‘17). Other on-campus competition will take place on men’s and women's soccer fields across the league, still to be determined based on regular-season standings and seedings.
Neutral site venues include the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif., the site of the 2024 Big West Tennis Championships for the third consecutive season, as well as a third-straight event at LaQuinta Country Club for men's golf. The women return to Spanish Trail Country Club in Las Vegas for back-to-back years.
The Dollar Loan Center in Henderson, Nev., will showcase the 2024 Big West Basketball Championships in March, featuring a new eight-team bracket and four days of competition for both the men and the women.
Additional championship sites and ticket information will be announced in the coming weeks. As we near the first date of competition across the league, mark your calendars for the culmination of each season and take a look at the 2023-24 Big West Championships schedule:
