UC San Diego's Izzy Forsyth Claims Big West Women's Basketball Player of the Week Honors

  • UC San Diego’s Izzy Forsyth averaged 20.5 points per game and helped the Tritons to a 1-1 weekend to earn a first career Big West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week recognition.  

  • The sophomore recorded a career-high 26 points in Wednesday’s loss at Cal State Fullerton, shooting 9-for-15 from the field and a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line to go along with a pair of rebounds and steals. 

  • Forsyth led the Tritons in scoring again on Saturday at CSUN with 15 points, including a 7-for-8 effort from the free throw line as well as recording three assists and a block in the 57-46 road victory.  

  • Forsyth becomes just the third Triton ever to secure weekly distinction, joining teammates Sydney Brown (Feb. 22, 2021) and Emily Cangelosi (Nov. 21, 2022) as league honorees. 

  • UC San Diego is back in action in a rare Monday afternoon tilt on President's Day, hosting UC Davis at 3 o’clock.
