UC San Diego’s Izzy Forsyth averaged 20.5 points per game and helped the Tritons to a 1-1 weekend to earn a first career Big West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week recognition.

The sophomore recorded a career-high 26 points in Wednesday’s loss at Cal State Fullerton, shooting 9-for-15 from the field and a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line to go along with a pair of rebounds and steals.

Forsyth led the Tritons in scoring again on Saturday at CSUN with 15 points, including a 7-for-8 effort from the free throw line as well as recording three assists and a block in the 57-46 road victory.

Forsyth becomes just the third Triton ever to secure weekly distinction, joining teammates Sydney Brown (Feb. 22, 2021) and Emily Cangelosi (Nov. 21, 2022) as league honorees.

UC San Diego is back in action in a rare Monday afternoon tilt on President's Day, hosting UC Davis at 3 o’clock.
