The Big West Conference has highlighted a few special moments in softball postseason history.
• May 11, 2013 - Hawaii’s Kaia Parnaby records her 325th strikeout of the season, setting a new single season Big West record. She passed former UH All-American and fellow Aussie southpaw, Brooke Wilkins who held the record of 324 since 1994.
• May 14, 2010 - In only its third season at the Division I level, UC Davis clinches a share of its first Big West regular season title. Thanks to a series win over CSUN earlier in the season, the Aggies would advance to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in their short DI history.
• May 19, 1990 - In the third and decisive game of NCAA Regional No. 4, Long Beach State outlasts Cal State Fullerton 2-1 in 16 innings to advance to the Women’s College World Series. Freshman Mary Letourneau was a key reason for LBSU's success. The pitcher threw two perfect games in one week that season.
• May 20, 2007 - Cal State Fullerton defeats Ohio State twice in NCAA Columbus Regional to advance to the Super Regional round. Jessica Doucette hit three homers in the back-to-back wins over the Buckeyes. The Titans are the only team in Big West history to advance to the Super Regional round since the postseason format changed in 2005.
• May 25, 1986 - Cal State Fullerton defeats Texas A&M, 3-0, to win the Women’s College World Series. It remains the only national championship in softball in Big West history.
