Clemmensen, Lapsley Earn Men's Soccer Weekly Honors

? Carter Clemmensen savored a notable start to his collegiate career with a pair of game-winning goals for UC Santa Barbara.

? The 6-foot-3 forward and Gatorade Arizona High School Player of the Year backed up his goal scoring reputation with two goals on three shots in victories over St. John’s (2-0) and UC Riverside (3-1).

? Clemmensen notched UCSB’s first goal of the season – and the first of his college career – when he headed a throw in from Hunter Ashworth into the net in the 41st minute.

?  The forward put the Gauchos up 2-0 on UCR with a goal in the 56th minute, taking a one touch and rifling a shot past the keeper on a breakaway.

? Wallis Lapsley helped UC Davis to a solid 1-0-1 opening weekend in Nebraska a pair of shutouts over Omaha and Creighton.

? The junior netminder stopped all nine shots put on frame, including six in a double-overtime scoreless draw against the Bluejays, a team receiving votes in the preseason poll and a victor over No. 11 Clemson in its season opener.

? His two clean sheets gave him six for his career, and he helped the Aggies extend their shutout streak to 318 minutes dating back to last year.
