  • Sacramento State midfielder Hiroshi Yang scored two goals in a win to earn The Big West Offensive Player of the Week award. It is Yang's first career weekly honor.
     
  • The Hornet junior put away two goals in a 3-1 home win over UC Riverside. 
     
  • Yang's first goal came on a wonder strike in the 28th minute from approximately 35 yards out, that was featured on ESPN's SportsCenter Top 10 later that day. Eleven minutes later, the Hornets were awarded a free kick off a foul from about 25 yards out and the Wheatland, Calif. product snuck a left-footed shot inside the left post for the 2-0 lead.
     
  • Sacramento State is currently on a two-game win streak and has a 3-5 overall record. Yang has three goals and two assists on the season.

  • Cal State Fullerton goalkeeper Asger Hemmer was the defensive catalyst in two road wins to secure The Big West Defensive Player of the Week honor. It is the first career defensive weekly honor for Hemmer. 
     
  • The sophomore had one save in a 2-1 win at UC San Diego on Wednesday.
     
  • Hemmer compiled two saves in a 3-0 shutout victory at San Diego State, Saturday night. 
     
  • Cal State Fullerton is on a three-game win streak and is currently 3-3-3. Hemmer has two shutouts on the season.

  • Sacramento State's Adrian Alvarenga contributed 80 minutes off the bench to be named The Big West Rookie of the Week. This is Alvarenga's first career weekly honor from the conference.
     
  • The first-year Hornet played 80 minutes on the back line in the Hornets' 3-1 win over UC Riverside on Wednesday. 
     
  • Alvarenga also finished with a shot on goal.
