• UC Riverside junior Connor Cannon earned his second career Big West Baseball Field Player of the Week award thanks to a power display in a conference series win over Hawai‘i.
• The designated hitter batted .500 (6-for-12) over four games with five runs scored and eight RBIs. He also drew six walks to finish the week with a .684 on-base percentage.
• Cannon cranked three home runs against the Rainbow Warriors over a two-game span, raising his season total to a conference second-best nine.
• Cannon blasted a pair of homers in Friday’s 16-5 win. He finished 3-for-3 with three runs scored and five RBIs to go along with two walks.
• He recorded his third round tripper of the series in Saturday’s 15-3 loss.
• After going 1-for-4 in Sunday’s 4-3 triumph, Cannon extended his hitting streak to 13 games.
• Cannon slugged 1.250 for the week. Fifteen of his 31 hits on the year have gone for extra bases.

MICHAEL CLARK, CAL POLY – BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

• Cal Poly senior Michael Clark collected his second Big West Baseball Pitcher of the Week award in 2019 with two stellar relief appearances that helped push the Mustangs to a series sweep of UC Davis.
• The right-hander pitched nine scoreless innings of relief, scattering eight hits with six strikeouts and just one walk against the Aggies.
• Clark tossed 5 2/3 innings in Friday’s 5-1 win, giving up just two hits and striking out four. He picked up the win to improve to 2-1 on the season.
• Clark entered Sunday’s game in the third inning with the Mustangs trailing 3-0, two runners on base and no outs. Although UC Davis plated two more runs on a double and sac fly to go up 5-0, Clark prevented any further damage in his 3.1 inning stint as Cal Poly rallied to tie the game with two runs in the fifth and three in the eighth.
• The Rohnert Park native has not allowed an earned run in 10 of his last 11 appearances dating back to March 16 at Baylor. In his last 23.2 innings, he has yielded just two runs for a 0.76 earned run average.
