Turney Turns Career-High Scoring Effort Into Weekly Honor

• Cal State Fullerton junior Taylor Turney captured her first career Big West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week award on the strength of a career-high 31-point effort in a win over California Baptist.

• The 5-foot-9 guard tallied a double-double with the 31 points and a career-best 14 rebounds.

• Turney made 9-of-12 from the free throw line en route to a 14-point fourth quarter that saw the Titans hold off the Lancers for the 97-93 victory. She finished 10-of-17 for the game from the charity stripe.

• Turney’s 14 boards obliterated her previous career-best of eight set Dec. 4 at San Francisco.

• She chipped in six assists and a steal. It was the fifth time this season that she had at least six helpers in one game.

• The Henderson, Nev. native shot 10-of-16 from the field and knocked down a three-pointer in her 35 minutes of floor time.
