• UC Riverside junior Alexis Vera earned her first Big West Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honor after leading the Highlanders to their first conference victory this season.
• The forward had her first multi-goal game against UC Davis on Sunday, where she punched in two goals after a scoreless first half.
• Vera's first goal came off a play in the 60th minute where she retrieved her own rebound after the ball was deflected off the keeper. The Chino Hills native then blasted the rebound into the goal, giving Riverside momentum and a 1-0 lead.
• The junior scored UCR's second goal in the 80th minute where she was one-on-one with the Aggie goalkeeper but was able to break through and fire another one in for a Highlander insurance goal.

• Hawai'i goalkeeper Alexis Mata recorded Big West Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week accolades for the second time this season and for the sixth time in her career.
• The six career citations ties Mata for No. 3 all-time in Big West history with Long Beach State’s Ashton McKeown.
• The senior spent a total of 200 minutes defending the goal for the Rainbow Wahine as they faced UC Riverside and Cal State Fullerton on the road.
• Mata, who was No. 3 in the conference for saves in 2018 (86), tallied 10 more saves over the course of two matches to help Hawai'i go unbeaten over the weekend (1-0-1).
• Mata made three saves in a 2-0 win over the Highlanders for her fifth shutout of the season.
• She made seven more stops against first place Cal State Fullerton in a 1-1 draw.
• Mata’s .909 save percentage for the week improved her season numbers to a conference-best .826. She also leads all Big West goalies with 76 saves.
