Hawai‘i sophomore Lindsey Willmon and CSUN freshman Zoe Conley captured the Big West softball weekly awards, helping their teams to series victories in conference play.
Willmon Leads Rainbow Wahine Offense
Sophomore Lindsey Willmon (Elk Grove, Calif./Lake City HS) hit a team-high .556 with a pair of multi-hit games to help Hawai‘i earn a series victory on the road against Cal Poly, and earned Big West Softball Field Player of the Week honors.
The outfielder hit safely in all three games, registering five hits in nine at bats with a double and an RBI. She had two hits in each of the two games of Saturday’s doubleheader.
In the rubber game, Willmon finished 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored. She led off the second with a base hit and later came around to score UH’s first run, and followed with a run-scoring single in the next inning to give the Rainbow Wahine all the scoring they would need.
In conference play, Willmon is third on the team in hitting with a .306 average.

Conley Wins All Three Games Of Conference Series
For the third time this season, CSUN freshman Zoe Conley (Berkeley, Calif./Salesian HS) is the recipient of Big West Softball Pitcher of the Week honors. The right-hander was the winning pitcher in all three games against UC Riverside.
For the week, Conley went 3-0 with a 1.24 ERA, winning once as the starter and twice more with solid relief stints.
In the opener, Conley emerged the victor in an old-fashioned pitcher’s duel, a 1-0 final. She collected her seventh shutout of the year, yielding just six hits and one walk while striking out five.
Conley returned to action in game two with four solid scoreless innings of relief. She allowed four hits and three walks as the Matadors prevailed in a 10-6 slugfest. In the finale, Conley pitched the final six innings of a 7-6, nine inning triumph and surrendered runs for the first time in the series. She finished with a final line of three runs and seven hits allowed while striking out one.
Conley owns a stellar 18-4 record and 1.45 ERA on the season. She recently was named one of 25 finalists for the NFCA Freshman of the Year award. CSUN has matched its highest win total (37) since 1998.
