Senior Christian Standhardinger (Munich, Germany/Nebraska) helped Hawai‘i accomplish a program first as the Big West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
With averages of 18.5 points, 11.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals, Standhardinger spurred the Rainbow Warriors to their third and fourth consecutive road wins over UC Riverside (87-76) and Cal State Fullerton (83-80).
It marked the first time in 42 years that UH has won four straight road games. In addition, the ‘Bows notched four consecutive conference road victories for the first time in their nearly 35 seasons in the Western Athletic Conference and Big West.
Standhardinger collected his eighth double-double of the season with 27 points – four short of his career-high - and 13 rebounds in the win over UCR. He hit 9 of 19 floor shots and 8 of 10 from the foul line, and added three assists and a steal.
Against the Titans, Standhardinger shook off foul trouble to produce 10 points, nine rebounds and a pair of steals in 25 minutes, nearly earning his third consecutive double-double.
For the week, Standhardinger shot 48.0% (12 of 25) from the field and 85.7% (12 of 14) from the charity stripe.
