Junior Chris Eversley (Chicago, Ill./Rice) averaged 24.0 points and shot 64.0 percent from the field to spearhead Cal Poly's successful road foray to Cal State Northridge and Hawai’i, earning his selection as the Big West Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
Eversley led all players in scoring in both games with 23 points against CSUN and 25 versus UH. It marked the eighth and ninth times this season that Eversley contributed 20 or more points in a game.
The 6-7 forward drained a career-high three three-pointers against the Matadors in the 81-61 triumph Thursday. He made 8 of 12 floor shots overall, adding eight rebounds, two assists and a steal in 34 minutes.
Eversley cemented a 2-0 Cal Poly week with 25 points, four rebounds and two assists in a hard fought 64-61 win on Senior Night against UH. He equalled his career best with 11 field goals (in 18 attempts) against the Warriors.
Eversley helped Cal Poly to back-to-back road conference victories for the first time since opening the 2010-11 ledger with three successive road wins.
For the week, he led the Mustangs in points (48), points per game, field goal percentage (63.3), rebounds (12), rebounds per game (6.0) and minutes per game (35.0).
