The Anteaters defeated High Point, 80-71, in Wednesday's first round of the CIT behind a career-high 32 points and 14 rebounds from sophomore post Will Davis II. It was the first postseason victory for the Anteater program since an 80-74 triumph at UCLA in the 1986 National Invitation Tournament First Round.
UCI, making its first postseason appearance since playing in the 2002 NIT, improved to 21-15 on the season. The 21 wins are tied for the third-most in UCI single-season history.
