UC Davis sophomore Corey Hawkins (Goodyear, Ariz./Arizona State) averaged 26.0 points and shot nearly 62 percent from the field in a pair of commanding victories at home, earning him Big West Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors

Hawkins accounted for almost one-third of his team's offense last week, scoring a total of 52 points in victories over Hawai’i (89-65) and Cal State Northridge (73-61).
He notched 21 points on 7 of 14 shooting, including 2 of 3 from three-point range, and added five rebounds, a team-high five assists and two steals against the second-place Warriors. He also drained all five of his free throw attempts as UCD recorded its first conference sweep of the season.
Against the Matadors, Hawkins erupted for his third 30-point scoring effort of the season, finishing with 31 points, six rebounds and a pair of steals. The 6-3 guard was efficient, connecting on nine of his 12 field goal attempts (and 6 of 8 from three). Hawkins also made all but two of his nine free throw tries.
Hawkins helped the Aggies sweep the Matadors for the first time in school history.
