Moorer Grabs Final Weekly Honor In Her Senior Season

Long Beach State senior, Tipesa Moorer grabs this season’s final Big West Player of the Week honor, her second in honor this season, as well as being named to the  2011-2012 Big West All-Conference Second Team. 

The Harbor City native made her final showing at the Walter Pyramid one to remember as she averaged a team-high 18.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, garnering a spot for the 49ers in the post-season tournament placing seventh overall in Big West Conference standings. 

The 5-10 forward went 17-for-13 from the field for a team-best 17 points in last week’s contest against Pacific where they suffered a close 73-68 loss.   Moorer scored 10 of her 17 points against the Tigers in the second half to come back from a nine-point deficit, tying the game at 61 with 3:33 left to play.  In her last regular season contest, Moorer scored a game-high 20 points in a 62-61 victory over Cal State Fullerton on Senior Night, shooting 10-for-14 with five rebounds.

For the week, Moorer averaged 18.5 points per game while shooting 63 percent from the floor, including an average 6.5 boards.
