In collaboration with ESPN and the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority, the Big West Conference’s 10-game distribution package on ESPN3 features baseball this week as two games between UC Davis and Hawai‘i will be streamed live at Les Murakami Stadium in Honolulu.
The Aggies and Rainbows meet for a four-game series beginning Thursday, Mar. 29 and continuing through Sunday, Apr. 1. The Thursday and Sunday contests will be streamed on ESPN3 and can be accessed at
www.watchespn.com. Thursday’s first pitch is at 6:35 p.m. (HST) and 9:35 p.m. (PDT). Sunday’s game begins at 1:05 p.m. (HST) and 4:05 p.m. (PDT).
UC Davis is 10-10 on the season and kicks off a seven-game roadtrip on the islands. Hawai‘i enters the series 14-11 overall. The matchup is a preview of things to come as Hawai‘i prepares to become a Big West member starting with the 2013 season.
The ESPN3 package began on Friday, Nov. 25 with a women’s volleyball match between Cal State Fullerton and Hawai‘i from Titan Gym. Since then, five other contests have been showcased on ESPN3, most recently a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) men's volleyball showdown between Hawai‘i and Cal State Northridge on Mar. 24.
The inclusion of games on ESPN3 extends ESPN’s current five-year deal with the Big West, which continues through the 2012-13 season.
Long Beach State hosts Pacific in a softball doubleheader on May 11 to complete the 10-game package.
ESPN3 is currently available in more than 70 million households through computers, tablets and smart phones and in 25 million households via Xbox gaming consoles.
