Cal Poly center and leading scorer Kristina Santiago receives the Big West Player of the Week honor for the second week in a row,  her fifth this season.  This is Santiago’s tenth career Big West Player of the Week honor, placing her fourth all-time in conference history.

The Santa Maria native led the Mustangs to the top of the conference standings last week with their first win over Long Beach State.   Santiago went 11-for-16 from the floor with 29 points and one rebound short of a double-double.

In a battle between two teams vying for the Big West Tournament No. 1 seed, Santiago grabbed her 14th double-double in a 70-56 win over Cal State Northridge.  Her 16 points and 15 rebounds moved her into 11th place nationally for most double-doubles this season.

For the week, Santiago averaged 22.5 points and 12.0 rebounds with a 45.7 field goal percentage.

Others nominated: Megan Richardson (Cal State Fullerton); Samantha Meggison (UC Davis); Emilie Johnson (UC Santa Barbara); Kendall Rodriguez (Pacific)
