Martin Earns All-Tournament Honors

Hawai`i junior Kamilah Martin averaged a double-double over three tournament games to claim Big West Women's Basketball Player of the Week accolades.

Martin led the Wahine to a 2-1 record at the Bank of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine Invitational as she posted numbers of 13.7 points and 10.7 rebounds on 50.0 (15 of 30) percent shooting from the floor.  For her efforts, Martin earned a spot on the all-tournament team, her third such honor this season.alt

The 6-0 forward began the tournament with 14 points, seven rebounds and two steals in a 52-33 triumph against LIU Brooklyn.  She made 6 of 12 shots in just 24 minutes of action.

She then notched 12 points and a season-high 15 rebounds in a 65-63 overtime victory against Cincinnati.  With the 15 boards, she passed former UH great Kim Everett (747) for fourth all-time in career rebounds with 751.

After corralling another 10 rebounds in a tough 44-43 loss to Alabama in the championship game, Martin now has 761 career rebounds and ranks second in school history in rebounds per game average (11.0).  Martin scored 15 points on 4 of 8 floor shooting and 7 of 9 efficiency from the line against the Crimson Tide.

Martin has 34 career double-doubles and has led the Rainbow Wahine on the glass in every game this season.
