The hangover from losing the Big West Conference Tournament championship game on Saturday lasted through the first half of Long Beach State's first round National Invitation Tournament game Wednesday night. The 49ers staged a valiant second-half rally but unfortunately they built too big a hole to climb out of in losing 85-74.
