Tournament play continues in earnest this weekend for Big West softball as three of the league's clubs host invites in their home ballparks.
Cal Poly, Long Beach State and UC Riverside will be the hosts this weekend as the Mustang Classic, Long Beach Invitational and Amy S. Harrison Classic are on the ledger.
The Mustangs will play Iowa State, Sacramento State and Cal State Bakersfield at Bob Janssen Field over the weekend, opening up the home portion of their 2010 schedule. Conference foe UC Santa Barbara will also play a single game at the tournament Friday against ISU.
LBSU will welcome teams to its home away from home, Mayfair Park, for the Long Beach Invitational. Purdue, Notre Dame, Buffalo, Idaho State and San Diego will be the 49er opponents over the three-day event.
UCR's annual Amy S. Harrison Classic has Idaho State, Northern Illinois and Harvard going to the Inland Empire. The Highlanders are 4-3 at home this season and are in the midst of a 15-game homestand.
Big West clubs will also take part in the Bayer CropScience Classic (Fresno, Calif.) and Diamond Devil Invitational (Tempe, Ariz.) this weekend. Cal State Fullerton and UC Davis won't be involved in tournament play this weekend, but will both play neutral site games in the Northern California area.
