An offensive outburst and dominant pitching performance were the focus of this week's conference softball honors as Trina Harrison of Cal State Fullerton won the Big West Field Player of the Week, while Anna Cahn of Cal Poly claimed Big West Pitcher of the Week accolades.
Harrison Puts up Historic Numbers at Garman
Trina Harrison had quite a weekend for Cal State Fullerton at the Judi Garman Classic, netting her Big West Field Player of the Week accolades.
The sophomore hit .429 (6-14) against five tough opponents at the tournament, starting with a hit and RBI against Purdue and a homer and a homer and two RBI against Louisville.
Harrison saved her best performance for last as she went 4-for-4 with a homer, seven RBI, two runs scored and a pair of doubles against Louisiana-Lafayette.
She fell a triple short of the cycle against the Ragin’ Cajuns and collected three of her hits and all seven of her RBI in the first four innings.
The seven RBI are also the most in the CSF program since Jodie Cox knocked in seven against Utah State on March 30, 2002.

Cahn Wins Second Weekly Pitching Honor of 2010
Anna Cahn claimed her second Big West Pitcher of the Week honor of the young season after a great effort for the Mustangs at the Louisville Slugger Classic at Stanford.
Cahn kicked off her week with a complete game, seven-hitter against Santa Clara. She allowed four runs, but only one was earned and struck out nine against no walks.
Cahn then picked up a win in relief against Princeton, pitching three innings, allowing just one unearned run and striking out three for the win.
The junior then wrapped up her week with a complete game effort against Saint Mary's. She allowed just four hits and two unearned runs while striking out nine against no walks.
For the week, Cahn was 3-0 with a 0.41 ERA in 17.0 innings. She allowed 14 hits, seven runs (one unearned) and struck out 20 against no walks.
