The Cal State Northridge softball team (5-9) defeated Michigan State three times Sunday at Matador Diamond. The Matadors won 6-5, 6-1 and 4-3 over the Spartans behind an offense that hit .358 and a defense that limited MSU to a .280 on-base percentage in the three contests.

Beach Softball Drops Two Games on Final Day of Cathedral City Classic
The Long Beach State softball team (5-9) dropped a pair of games on the final day of the Cathedral City Classic as it fell to Colorado State, 3-2, and No. 13 California, 8-1.

Mustangs Fall Twice During Final Day of Cathedral City Classic
Run-scoring singles by junior lefthander Anna Cahn and sophomore left fielder Nicole Lund twice gave the Cal Poly softball team the lead against Long Island on Sunday afternoon, but a throwing error during the bottom of the eighth inning proved the undoing as the Mustangs dropped a 3-2 decision against the Blackbirds at the Oregon State-hosted Cathedral City Classic. Cal Poly also failed to post a second-successive victory against a ranked foe, as the Mustangs capped play at Big League Dreams Sports Park with a 7-3 loss against No. 2 Arizona.

Top-Ranked Washington Defeats UC Davis
UC Davis was defeated by No. 1 Washington, 9-1, Sunday in six innings in a non-conference softball game at the Cathedral City Classic. It was the second of two games for the Aggies scheduled on the final day of the tournament. The first game against No. 22 Northwestern was suspended in the middle of the sixth inning. The loss to the Huskies drops UC Davis to 6-7. Washington improved to 12-1.
The Aggies' first game of the day against Northwestern featured a drop-dead time limit due to a combination of a delayed start time and travel limitations for the Wildcats. In addition, the teams agreed ahead of time to attempt to complete the game next week while the two squads are in Fullerton if the game could not be completed on Sunday.

Final Day of Gaucho Classic Cancelled
The final three games of the Gaucho Classic were cancelled on Sunday morning due to the field at Campus Diamond being deemed unplayable. The field was still significantly wet after heavy rains Friday evening and Saturday morning. The inclement weather also caused the cancellation of Saturday's games. Only seven of the originally scheduled 13 games were played.

The UC Riverside softball team (4-9) concluded the UTSA Tournament on Sunday morning with a 7-2 loss to North Texas at Roadrunner Field.

Titans Swept on Final Day in Cathedral City
The Cal State Fullerton softball team was defeated in its final two contests at the 2010 Cathedral City Classic on Sunday afternoon, falling to No. 16 Ohio State by a 5-2 score and later to Syracuse, 4-1.
