A pair of dominant performances in two UC Irvine victories earned Mikah Maly-Karros her second Big West Women's Basketball Player of the Week mention of the 2009-10 season.

The sophomore transfer from Loyola Marymount opened up her week with a career night in UCI’s 70-54 road win over Pacific. Maly-Karros poured in 35 points, grabbed 17 rebounds and blocked six shots against the Tigers, the most points and rebounds a player in the Big West has recorded this season. She shot an impressive 12-21 from the field and made 11-of-13 from the charity stripe in 36 minutes.

Maly-Karros then followed that effort with another double-double in the Anteaters' 73-65 home win over Orange County rival Cal State Fullerton. She recorded 28 points and 14 rebounds in only 28 minutes of action. She shot 7-of-14 from the field and hit 14-of-15 from the free throw line.

Maly-Karros, who has led UC Irvine to four wins in its past five contests, has recorded five consecutive double-doubles and has a league-best nine on the season. She is averaging 18.6 points, 11.6 rebounds and is shooting 79.8% (87-109) from the foul line in only 14 games this year.

Others nominated:
Kristina Santiago, Cal Poly; Ally Wade, Long Beach State; Alyssa Morris, UC Riverside; Meagan Williams, UC Santa Barbara
