Senior guard Alyssa Morris' offensive performance guided UC Riverside to a win over Pac-10's Washington to earn Big West Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors. This is her first honor of the season and second of her career.
The Fresno, Calif., native recorded a game-high 22 points, shooting 8-of-12 from the field. Her 22 points were a season best and just one point shy or her career high. In the 59-54 win over Washington, Morris also fired a .667 clip (4-of-6) from three point range, while adding two blocks, two steals and two rebounds.
Morris and the rest of the Highlanders return to action Tuesday, Dec. 14 when they try to make it two-in-a-row against the Pac-10 with a visit to Oregon.
