Lenny Daniel (Richmond, Va./Coffeyville JC) sparked Cal State Northridge to its first victory over a Big East Conference opponent in school history and gained his first Big West Men's Basketball Player of the Week honor for the 2010-11 season.
The 6-8 forward averaged 20.7 points and 10.3 rebounds over three games to capture All-Tournament accolades at the 76 Classic. Daniel scored a career-high 31 points and added 10 rebounds as the Matadors logged an impressive 88-66 win against Big East Conference foe DePaul on Friday. The 31 points was the most by any player in this year's 76 Classic and the third-most in the four-year history of the event. Daniel shot 11-for-15 from the field while recording his first double-double of the season.
Daniel collected 24 points and eight rebounds in an 80-63 loss to Tulsa, hitting 9 of 12 floor shots. He began the tournament with seven points and a season-high 13 rebounds in a 72-56 setback to Virginia Tech.
The senior ranked No. 2 among 76 Classic players with his 20.7 scoring average and led in rebounding. He made 63.9% (23-of-36) from the field.
