For the second week in a row, UC Santa Barbara's Chris Devine (Eagle River, Alaska/Chugiak HS) received Big West Men's Basketball Player of the Week recognition as the senior posted 20-point performances in a pair of Gaucho victories.

Devine, a 6-8 forward, tallied 26 points versus Pacific in a 67-57 win and added 20 against Montana State in a 78-71 overtime triumph.  The wins increased UCSB's season-high winning streak to four games.

His 26 points, in addition to being a game-high, enabled him to become just the fourth player in Gaucho history to eclipse the 1,500 career point mark.  He hit 10 of 10 from the free throw line against the Tigers and added eight rebounds and a steal to his stat line.

In the non-conference matchup with the Bobcats, the senior stepped up in the clutch, scoring seven of UCSB's 11 points in overtime.  In fact, Devine outscored the Bobcats 7-4 in the extra period.  Fourteen of Devine's 20 points came after the intermission.

Devine finished the week with 1,534 points, moving him within 47 points of the third spot on UCSB's all-time list.

For the week, Devine averaged 23.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting 51.5% (17 of 33) from the floor.

Others nominated: Shawn Lewis (Cal Poly); Larry Anderson (Long Beach State); Joe Harden (UC Davis); Eric Wise (UC Irvine); Javon Borum (UC Riverside)
